Field Trips



The Nature School at the Morrison Nature Center/Star K Ranch.

September 17th from 10:30 am to noon.

Cost is $1 per student who wants to participate.



Activity Agenda (Students will be in groups and all students will rotate through each station):

Activity 1: Wildlife of Aurora, using pictures, biofacts, pelts and skulls, we will learn about the different animals that live in Aurora, what makes them particularly special and adapted to live in our local habitats.

Activity 2: Migration and Hibernation, we will learn about what animals and plants are doing as the weather gets cool during the autumn season, focusing on migration, hibernation, and adaptions.

Activity 3: Nature Walk, we will learn explore some of the Star K Ranch trails by taking a nature walk – using a scavenger hunt approach we will look for some interesting things along the way.

The activities will end at noon but you are welcome to bring a lunch/snacks and stay and enjoy the area. There are picnic tables available for us and you can explore the trails.
